Managing Territory Alignments
Overview¶
In Velocity, alignments are used to define the organizational structure for your rep hierarchy, as well as which territories they are assigned to.
In this guide, we'll first learn how to manage alignments and prepare them for territory assignment.
Creating an alignment¶
To create an alignment, simply navigate to the Alignments tab and select Add an alignment.

Alignment Levels¶
Before we can begin editing our alignment territories, we first need to give it a name and define the levels.
Rep Levels¶
Upon creation, levels for your rep organizational structure should be defined for the alignment.
Consider the following example:

Here, we have defined an alignment that will be used to commission all of our consumable products.
Here, the highest ranking reps is defined at the Regional Manager level. In this example, Regional Manager reps manage reps at the District Manager level, who in turn manage reps at the Area Manager level.
It is important to note that these levels must be defined when the alignment is created. Levels may not be added or removed after the alignment is created.
Renaming an Alignment¶
Alignments can be renamed by selecting the Actions button in the alignment row in the list and selecting Rename within the dropdown.

Deleting an Alignment¶
To delete an alignment, select the Actions button in the alignment row and select Delete within the dropdown.
Note
Deleting alignments is not allowed if the alignment is linked to a collection within Shopify. It must first be unlinked before it can be deleted.
