How does Velocity calculate commission for an order with multiple products?

When an order contains multiple products with different commission rates, Velocity calculates the commission based on the commission rules associated with each product collection.

What happens if a product doesn't have a specific commission rule?

Commission rules must be set at the collection level for commission to be calculated. If the product is in a collection with commission rules configured, then the product will be commissioned at the default rate for the applied rule.

Any product outside a commissionable collection will not affect the commission calculations, and is ignored by Velocity.

Can I change commission rates for existing orders?

Commission amounts are calculated at the time the order is placed. If you need to adjust commission amounts after the initial calculation, you can:

Manually edit individual commission amounts.

Use the "Recalculate Commission" button, to rerun the commission calculation against the current ruleset.

What happens if I change my default commission rate?

Changing your default commission rate only affects future orders. Historical orders retain the commission rate that was active when they were placed. This ensures consistency in your commission records and prevents unexpected changes to past calculations.
